Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we get before you order

Almost every pre-purchase question is about delivery day. Here are the ones that come up most. The full picture is in our Delivery & Preparation guide.

Who unloads the sauna?

You do. The carrier’s driver is not responsible for unloading the crate from the truck, so you need equipment or people ready before it arrives: a forklift or similar machinery, a tilt tow truck, or an adequately prepared crew where the crate size allows. You can also collect the crate from the freight terminal yourself with a suitable trailer. If you’re not sure which fits your situation, ask us before ordering.

Will the truck come up my driveway?

Assume not. The truck may be an 18-wheel freight truck, and it may not be able to enter your driveway. Delivery is curbside, or to the end of your driveway. Before ordering, check that a full-size truck can reach your road at all. Width, turning room, overhead clearance, and weight limits all matter.

What if the crate is longer than 84 inches?

Then a liftgate isn’t an option and you must arrange your own method of unloading. Crates 84inches or shorter may sometimes be delivered using a liftgate, but that’s never guaranteed, so it’s safest to plan for unloading yourself either way. Sauna crates commonly run well past that length. If unloading can’t be arranged on your side and our primary sauna manufacturer has to organize a tilt tow truck, that carries a $1,250 charge.

What if the shipment arrives damaged?

Photograph the damage before the crate is moved, note the damage specifically on the Bill of Lading before you sign it, and (unless you’ve been told otherwise) accept the shipment rather than refusing it. Then contact us immediately with the photos and the annotated Bill of Lading, and we’ll handle it with the manufacturer and carrier. Signing a clean Bill of Lading makes a damage claim considerably harder, so the annotation matters.

What base does the sauna need?

A level, prepared base: typically a concrete pad, patio stones, or a suitable deck. It needs to be level, stable, and able to carry the finished weight. Have it ready before delivery. The specific requirement for the model you’re considering is confirmed with you before purchase.

Is the heater included?

It depends on the model. Heaters and accessories may be sold separately, and a heater also has to be matched to the product and to the sauna’s cubic footage, so it’s not simply a matter of picking one. We confirm what’s included, and what heater suits your sauna, before you order.

Can I change the shipping address after ordering?

Before the order leaves the factory, talk to us as early as possible. Once it has shipped, a change of address carries a $350 charge under our primary sauna manufacturer’s freight program. Verifying the address and phone number when you order avoids it entirely.

Are there storage fees?

There can be. Once your shipment reaches the local freight terminal, the terminal contacts you to arrange delivery. If delivery is then delayed on your side, storage charges of $35 per day may apply under our primary sauna manufacturer’s program. Responding promptly when the terminal calls, and having your unloading plan ready, avoids it.

Fee figures shown here are USD and apply to United States deliveries under one manufacturer’s freight program. See our shipping policy for how terms differ between manufacturers.

Not sure how delivery will work at your property?

Talk to us before you order. We’ll go through your road access, driveway, and unloading plan with you, and confirm the crate details for the specific model you’re considering.
